Doesn't switch off

It weighs fine to the quarter pound which I wanted. But it appears to be faulty as it doesn't switch off, just loops off then back on again, therefore ran out of battery in a week. I have to take the battery out when not in use. Unfortunately I threw away the packaging and return notes so haven't been able to return.
