MUSIC FROM A REAL SOUL SINGER
It's hard to believe this album was released 24 years ago. The production is so fresh it puts more recent, so called, soul/RnB releases to shame with it's sassy funk and soaring ballads. It's so good I've bought it three times now, vinyl, cassete and now, eventually, CD.

PHIL MANZANERA - DIAMOND HEAD
Back in 1975 Roxy Music were possibly the biggest band in the UK. Guitarist, Phil Manzanera, enrols Roxy members Andy Mckay & Paul Thompson plus ex-Roxy wizzard Brian Eno and a host of other class rock musicians on his first solo album. With a mix of styles ranging from latino rock to jazz via some wonderful experimentation, this album sounds relevant today, even though it's 35 years old! Pity it never received the recognition the Bryan Ferry solo records did because it's every bit as good as any of them.
