Free your house from the stink of burnt cheapo belts
I searched out better quality belts for my DC04 after finding the generic cheapo belts didn't last long before breaking up and leaving the house smelling like a boy racers' burnout.
I've only had a few hours service on this type, but so far they look very promising. The surface is not glossy like the cheapos and these appear to be reinforced internally as they are not very 'stretchy'. These are clearly different and hold more tension on the brushbar (harder to fit, just like the originals). The machine is quiet and the belt runs true.
I don't expect that I'll be replacing this belt again soon, but it seems like I'll be replacing the belts on the dysons belonging to family & friends!

Good Fit & Finish - Plenty Strong - As long as advertised.
1 of 1 found this helpful Used 15mm spanner to torque nut to 100Nm. Spanner is 360mm approx so a pretty hefty (30kg approx) pull required. Felt solid throughout and would take more.
Fit & finish is good including inside the ring. Fits hex nicely with little slop. Much better quality than the Chinese 'C' shape obstruction spanners you see around at the moment.
Ring is flush with shank on one side, a little proud on the other - very useful. Note that the ring is not angled to the shank - essential on spanners of this length. Shank is parallel to the bolted surface, so you need very little height for access.
Remember just how long these are - you could easily overtighten or damage fasteners with these - go gently!
