VAUXHALL CORSA D TAILGATE BOOT HANDLE OPENING MICRO-SWITCH 13188017 13188288

Easily fitted.

If your Corsa boot stops opening, this is the likely solution. The boot can be released for repair by pushing a ribbed plastic lever on the side of the catch, from inside the car. To diagnose, remove the 2 pin connector and short the pins on the harness together. (Measuring voltages is a bit puzzling). Comes with grey primer cover, pop it off carefully with a screwdriver and snap on the old one from your own car. Alternatively, don't remove the old handle from the boot - just swap over the microswitch, which is moulded onto the back of the connector. It can be removed easily enough on its own.

Flimsy and will rust.

Flimsy, one coat of paint on steel so will soon rust at the seams. Not well packed so dented at one corner. Lid dies not lift properly because it pivots at the wrong point. I will try to overcome these flaws with DIY mods but I am not hopeful it can be used at all. Size is good!

Good Value

Good value for a proper meter which gives reliable readings. It is possible to pull the lead out of the probe shroud, so I recommend squeezing a drop of glue around the lead where it enters the shroud. To connect your own leads to this meter you need 3.5mm diameter banana plugs, which take some time to find on ebay.
