A distant memory.
Having grown up in the age of steam it is always fascinating to understand what happened to the old trackbed. With some just overgrown whilst others having been built on and over it would be good to reclaim some to lay on more trains, either steam or modern trains to take the strain off the roads.

Oh for the days of steam and thrills.
An interesting book for those who have questions about the days of steam and the demise of old railway routes. In many cases you cannot but wish that the railways were left given the number of heritage railways operating today. Dr Beeching would be amazed at their popularity.
