Small wonder!
Well made with an attractive bookmarked maple body. I've checked it carefully and can't see or hear any faults. The machines suit the instrument and work well.
It may be laminate but it looks good and produces a great sound.
Unplugged it's loud enough to practice without annoying the neighbours or to play with other acoustic strings. Amplified it becomes a beast, with a deep rounded tone like a double bass. The pre-amp lets you adjust the sound to suit your prefernces.
It feels like a combination of my other regular instruments; the size of a baritone ukulele with the sound of a bass guitar and as much fun as both put together!
It's easy to play with everything close together on the fingerboard. The Thundergut strings feel a bit strange to start with, rolling round the ends of your fingers, but rapidly settle and hold tune well. They respond quickly enough for rapid runs and riffs.
I can't wait to see the puzzled faces when it gets played at gigs and people try to work out where the bass line is coming from.
Highly recommended and rather addictive......

Magical mirrors and rainbows
The book is deceptively simple, but when held at the correct angle the images appear to leap from the page or disappear into the distance.
It's a thing of beauty, but young children will need help to get the best from it - unless the pages are held at 90 degrees the illusions don't work properly.
The small amount of text is in Japanese, with no translations, but the images speak for themselves.
You will probably notice different things about the images each time you look at them, so this something to keep and treasure.

Pale but powerful
The paste was paler than I expected, a pale duck egg blue; perhaps Papa Smurf was unwell. The name might make you think the product is a joke but it’s definitely the real thing.
The paste is smooth and spreads evenly onto a leather strop and quickly put a nice polish and keen edge on the blade.
Highly recommended.
