The only band that matters
0 of 1 found this helpful Great album, listing most but not all of the famous and landmark tracks from all 4 Albums to date. I had this 20 years ago, and re-bought it because I liked the conciseness of it, even though I have all the Albums and EP's anyway.
If you want a cronology of the Clash's work's then forget The Essential Clash, this is the one. Hidden interview on disc 2 that sounds like they're on a tube train.
Would have liked to see "Stop the world" included, an underestemated track, but you can never have to much Clash in your collection. When Topper was sacked, the Clash didn't exist any longer, so this album is a transcript of the clash till that event.

Great film, lasted in popularity
one of a series of 70'2 post apocalyptic films, remember from my childhood, and liked it again second time around.
if you like this, try The Omega Man, Dark Star, and Westworld, plus Planet of the apes series...

2001 Dave and Hal's big day out
1 of 4 found this helpful An absolute Classic, great dialogue, direction and story. A small cast with the added extra cast member being a paranoid murderous Computer HAL900 (can't understand why no-one has made a fridge or similar with the same name). Spectacular scenes with many subjective answers to the many questions that the film brigs up. Favorite scene, the de-activation of HAL, that plus the bridge between the apes and the spaceship then and now:
A winner all round, the book went into more detail at the end, so if you find yourself wanting more, then try the book too!
Bought because the VHS copy i had was a bit faded.
