Good idea but doesn't work
Sadly provides no seal so merely delays water from escaping. Waste of time & money

Good looking but ..
Very attractive little clock but very clearly made to a low budget. Thin plastic case, average quality chrome and a slightly "loose" mechanism. I would guess another Chinese effort? It also has a serious drawback (as received) for a clock in that it fails to keep time, having stopped three times since I have had it (less than three weeks)! Whilst that may be a lazy battery for all I can tell, this is hardly a good advert for a product sold as "high accuracy". I expected it would be a bit fiddly to open up, adjust and change batteries and indeed it is, particularly annoying in light of the above failure to keep good time. As I said it is a sweet little item but I wouldn't recommend one to a friend.

Practical
It isn't "better than I expected" as you suggest, it is exactly what I expected. Simple, easy to fix and practical. Not strong enough to survive very heavy use perhaps but a good item.
