Is your business a job or is it a business??
Whether you are a phone installer or an interconnect as we are called, currently have a business or thinking about starting one, this book I am reading will really hit home. You will look at your business through a different set of eyes. This one paragraph really hit home..."It is the work you're not doing, the strategic work, the entrepreneuial work, that will lead your business forward, that will give the life you've not yet known." Being consumed by the tactical work of the business leads to only one thing: a complicated, frustrating, and eventually, demeaning job!" Also, he points a bigger picture. " The purpose of going into business is to get free of a job so you can create jobs for other people." "The purpose of going into business is to expand beyond your exisiting horizons. So you can invent something that satisfies a need in the marketplace that has never been satisfied before. So you can live an expanded, stimulating new life." The book is an easy entertaining read, with Gerber's story telling ability you can breeze through it. Mark simplyusedphones
