Cheap tubing ruins the whole thing!
The top and bottom plates are nicely moulded plate glass, but the aluminum tubes are way to thin and crush or bend out of shape easily on assembly. The tubes (3 per stand) locate in round cup like mounts attached to each glass plate, a metal rod then passes through the centre of each one and is fastened with a nut and washer. You then tighten the washer to secure the tube in place. Because the tubes are made of such a thin material its is very easy to crush and distort them when attempting to tighten them up. I found that getting the metal rods exactly in the centre is difficult which results in the top glass plate being on the skew with its bottom partner. The whole thing is so flimsy it is difficulty to twist the plates so the align with out damaging the aluminum tubing. Spending a few more pounds on a thicker material, maybe even sturdy plastic would have made this a nice product. My advice spend a few more pounds and buy a better product elsewhere!
