Flawed design, disappointing.
2 of 2 found this helpful So this is basically a good roof fan. Powerful, nice to look at and simple to install.
Just be very careful with the lid hinges and the square holes beneath them. No idea why there are holes below the lid hinges but they go behind the seal you make with the roof, and the hole covers aren't water tight themselves. So you can do a great job sealing the fan to your roof, but water from the lid goes down the hinge and into these two reservoirs, and leak behind the seal to the roof and into the car/van. I've tested this in the shower (lotta time on my hands atm) and it's clear the water leaks through these holes and into your carefully converted car/van! Wet wood is not good. Would have rated this highly if it was my sealing mistake, but this design is very flawed for a fan that is meant to be made for the outdoors.
Disappointing and a big time waste sealing it twice wondering whether it's just me being rubbish with sealant.
