Emergency repair parts
Because of the 5000 volt insulation on this transformer and others in the series they are often the only option you have to replace the failed CRT filament (heater) transformer in an old but still very much loved oscilloscope . That is what these were purchased for - for when the need arises with the aid of a suitable resistor to set the filament voltage to the correct value , the oscilloscope can be put into service for many years longer .

Value for money
These Pliers arrived very quickly . I took a long time to decide over purchasing these , not just because of the low price and fearing low quality but I also felt they might be too cumbersome to be that useful . I was wrong however as they are really quite manoverable and easy to use . Quality wise they look good and are quite serviceable although I have not had to try and use them for a really heavy duty "brute force" job . I have to say that for the price these are pretty good quality and definitely good value .
