Another use for the most awesome video game controller
1 of 1 found this helpful I discovered Steel Battalion and Line of Contact way after its prime, so it is sad that Capcom no longer supports the online campaigns. There are still some die hard users out there if you can find them and coordinate a time to play online. LoC (as it is affectionately known by its fans) makes use of the switches that were underutilized in the original game enabling you to go 'stealth' by shutting down auxiliary systems. This is a neat feature that reminds me of a good submarine hunt.
The main drawback it that you must connect to Xbox Live in order to get any further than the opening screen. This meant I couldn't even test out the controller until I logged in. I had hoped to be able to tool around and get used to the controller. Like most things, I've done this backwards. I bought the controller from a second hand store then was told there is only one game that uses it. That title is rarely if ever available without the controller. Then I heard that there was an online version and bought it on eBay.
I'll have to update this review as soon as I am able to play it with someone.

Peace at last
For a peaceful apartment dwelling, these are a must. It filters out the neighbor's subwoofer, the freeway traffic, and fan noise. It's amazing how music sounds once the sound floor is nearly silent. The battery lasts longer than advertised. I like being able to go 'wireless' and still get the noise canceling when I don't want to listen to music.
