Hot weather essential
I love these shirts and have a few of the long and short sleeve versions. For hot weather they are a must. For strenuous walking with a pack in the sun I choose a long sleeve for protection. The collar has an extra stand up piece at the back and ventilation around the shoulders is very good. The counter-intuitive bit is that under heavy exercise there is a build up of sweat but this soon cools the body. It doesn't sound pleasant but it works. In the mountains I find a fast flowing stream about 5 minutes before the end of the walk and wash the shirt; it then goes straight back onto me to cool me down and it is dry when I get to the car. No ironing is a bonus.

Recent return to jeans
I hadn't worn jeans for over 20 years and I bought myself a pair of another brand. I was disappointed with the fabric as it was too soft and stretchy. The Wrangler Texas by comparison feel and fit like my jeans of old. The patina isn't as I remember but that's a minor issue. True to size with minimal stretch and critically they're the right length and don't slip.
