A good purchase which is paying great dues so far.

Modem was purchased to replace a defective modem in my Dell PC. This product was an OEM replacement which was bought on the hope that it would perform better than the after market modem in the PC. So far, performance is improved and has not failed. Two after market, non-OEM, modems failed in this PC over a two month period. I like that it is still working. I suspect that the quality of the circuits on the PC board of the modem can handle more heat, which I think made the aftermarket modems fail. This PC is a dual processor work station that has a dual monitor outlet and generates a lot of heat. The video board is close to the modem. No dislikes regarding the modem itself. For those that seek items such as this for PCs, please understand that some technical expertise is required to download software from manufacturer sights to get the devices up and running, which was tha case with this modem. PC knew there was a new device, but did not have the software already loaded. So I had to get it from Dell via download. Fianlly, expertise with component installation is certainly required for replacing something broke in a PC.
