    THE MUMMY'S SHROUD
Although lacking Hammer's usual headlining stars and being highly formulaic in storyline, (revived Mummy kills the desecrators of prince's tomb),this is a highly enjoyable romp if you like the usual Hammer approach. Director John Gilling keeps the pace going at a steady rate and it could be described as an early slasher film as the Mummy hacks and crushes his way through his line up of victims, probably to cheers in some quarters. The character of Stanley Preston is entertainingly nasty and provides a good victim, but one almost feels sorry for Michael Ripper's fate. A good entry in Hammer's archive and worth a look.
