Useful for this novice DIY'er. May need to support the working end with your fingers

I'm really a novice at any kind of DIY, and not accustomed to handling tools much. But when I had to deal with a tiny screw on the battery compartment of a table lamp, I found that these screwdrivers very useful. Strangely, although the screw was a crosshead type, I started off by using the equivalent size slotted screwdriver, and this got the screw moving. I was then able to switch to the crosshead one. to complete the unscrewing. Mindful of some of the other reviews (which say that the screwdrivers snapped on use), I was careful to put my fingers near the working end to perhaps give it some support.

this would make an ideal gift

I purchased this item to protect my sink unit's unvarnished wooden worktop from splashes when I wash up. Also I needed something heatproof for hot dishes from the oven. I already had a worktop saver but it was much smaller (only about 30cm x 30cm). I checked the dimensions of the Tuftop, and they are as in the listing: 50cm x 40cm. This is just the right size for my worktop. There are four small "legs" on the base which elevate it a few millimetres. It is quite sturdy and unlikely to be accidentally swept off the worktop. The pattern is beautiful (even more than in the picture) and the finish has a "feathery" effect when you look at it from an angle. I'm delighted with this purchase, as it's both functional and decorative.

A very good buy!

These knobs really brighten up my kitchen cabinet! They should be long-lasting and easy to clean. I've had the cabinet less than two years, and the varnished wooden knobs that came with it had become dull and tatty-looking with use. I just unscrewed the old knobs by holding the back of the screw and turning the knobs, then put the porcelain ones on to the existing screws.
