Its a badge like the one you have taken off!!!
Its a genuine Land Rover badge for a Defender that simply replaces your old one. It will probably last as long as your old one or longer if you keep it clean. Doesn't contain any secret gimmicks or flashing lights, its a badge for your grill.

A word of caution on fitting.
These shock absorbers are good replacements and relatively easy to fit. Not very clear which washer goes where, and the hole for the top one on the chassis side of the pin is to small. Also it is harder to remove the mounting cups on the lower mount than is suggested and the supplied nut doesn't fit the top pin, being to big. Had to buy the correct one seperately, that said would still recomend.
