Why don't you already have one?
Pro controller is perfect for when you need an old school controller. Bonus for the NFC receiver for Amiibo figures.

Fast and safe
Charges NiMH batteries fast and gives you three options for LiPo batteries, fast, balance, and store. It's a little loud when it charges the batteries but it doesn't overheat the batteries. I only used Traxxas iD batteries so I can't say how well it works for other brands.

Nice update to your ap1
I've had these for about a month and they've held up pretty good so far. No condensation build up or bad LEDs. Connectors are a bit of a mish mash of connectors, one connects where the bulb goes, another connects to the harness, yet another uses the oem bulb. The instructions aren't the clearest either.
