Excellent ebay transaction. Seller was friendly with great communication, sent item quickly, extremely well packaged so it was received safely. The item was exactly as described if not in even better condition, in original box with manual so very well looked after. Very pleased with item quality, price, appearance and the whole ebay transaction was very smooth and friendly. Recommended vendor. Thanks.

Why buy new when used laptops are this good?
►For you to take this review in context you should first understand a bit about me, I am a perfectionist and a tinkerer. I have a fondness for technology and always do a lot of research before buying anything. I wanted an ultra-portable laptop to carry with me since my existing Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 is a bit heavy and I am donating it to my brother for his field work. ►This laptop is excellent. ►As a Lenovo (formerly IBM) this machine might have a minimalist look but I like that, the flat black finish is very smart. Its chassis is a very nice light weight magnesium that is pleasingly rigid and tough. ►If you are reading this review there is a strong chance that you have read other Thinkpad reviews and will know that the keyboard on this laptop is an industry leader, it has a brilliant feel, the travel is perfect and the buttons are all full-size, it is not backlit but there is the Thinklight which is an LED in the bezel that illuminates the keyboard. ►The Intel Core 2 Duo processor is up to most tasks and the on board graphics accellerator while not blistering is well up to the aero finish on Windows 7. This one is the 2.53Ghz model but most out there are the 2.4Ghz one, both are good. ►The X200 will accept 8Gb of RAM, a range of LAN cards, a Bluetooth module, a UWB wireless USB module, a WWAN card (it has a built in SIM tray in all configurations) an SD card a fingerprint reader and an Exprescard 54 all at once. Even if the one you are looking at does not have those feature it is extremely simple to fit them all as aftermarket parts, all of which are available at reasonable prices. ►Although the laptop itself doesn't have an optical drive there is a docking station available that can accept one. ►The battery that came with mine appears to be powered by witchcraft, even though it is by no means the largest capacity battery that is compatible it will happily browse the internet for 7 to 8 hours and will do more intensive work like video decoding for more than 5. ►For those who are more technical there is an AFFS screen that can be found at a good price and is pretty simple to fit and the motherboard from the X201 will fit which gives users an upgrade route to the i7 processor. ►Elephant in the room: There is no track pad on this laptop. Don't let that put you off, the Trackpoint (the red nipple between the G and H keys) is better, it just is. Those of you who can tough type will be able to reach the Trackpoint without taking your hands away from the home keys, those that can't will soon get used to the Trackpoint and will appreciate not having to lift and move your finger. ►This machine fits in between the X61 and the X201. The X61 which has the same screen dimension but because it is 4:3 the keyboard is narrower and has some non-full-size keys. The X201 is more money and has the i7, i5 or i3 processors. ►I love this laptop, it ticks all the geeky boxes. Buy one, you won't regret it.

    Best choice for early adopters.
It's a niche product but I love it. You don't need it but it is nice to have. It the only cycling HUD where you are not tied to goofy proprietary glasses. I can wear this with quality photochromic lenses on glasses I find comfortable and remove it as necessary.
