Long battery life, small and light, great pictures, but poor features.
I bought this partly to start getting into photography, but my excuse was an impending holiday. It was a great camera for the trip - fairly light and small compared to the chunky DSLRs that lots of tourists were inexplicably lugging around (do you really need a DSLR to take 500 badly-framed shots of your wife in front of famous monuments in auto-mode?). The battery life was great (although less so when using the camera for filming - this runs the battery down very quickly), and I'm very happy with the shots I came home with; this camera gives you far more control than with a simple point-and-shoot. Negatives are that the features on the camera aren't great, and that the flash looks ridiculous (it certainly makes people smile for pictures, though). However, in all it's a great little camera for taking slicker-than-your-average holiday shots and for getting a feel for photography. Good at close-up shots, especially. I'm very happy with it.
