Shades of great
Bought as a gift and was told it is great. Positive comments that it is light-weight and fits perfectly and would buy another for a spare. The price makes it a five-star deal.

Good Dog
2 of 2 found this helpful My Dobie is pretty high spirited. Within a week of using this trainer, Tyson was again welcomed in the dog park. His spirit is intact and he is responsive to commands almost immediately. I only use the "beep"/sound signal now (the buzzer component not having been used for required for a long time). They learn quickly with minimal correction that is more uncomfortable than painful. (I tried it on myself before buzzing him.) The reason I still outfit him with the trainer is for recall only. I am able to let him off leash knowing that he will return almost immediately when the beeper is pressed. The dog and I are both happier.
This is my second purchase of this item. Tyson wears this approx 2 hours every day for recall and after a year+, the battery died. The battery costs about $30 through PetSafe and a new complete set through this seller was $50. With only a $20 difference, it was worth buying a new set. Would be nice to find a battery pack for a better price.

training made easy
1 of 1 found this helpful This trainer is awesome.
I was hesitant to use a "zapper" on my pet, but it has made a believer of me and converted me to its benefits. It does require discharging a pulse to your dog while (s)he is in training but it's not a horrible jolt - just enough to catch and refocus their attention - and it offers an intensity range from 1-8. An audio discharge is also offered on the remote. Consistently working with my dog, I find that the audio stimulation 99% of the time now is sufficient to correct the unwanted behavior and the "zap" discharge is not needed. He has learned that the audio stimulation is a signal that his behavior is not acceptable and to "give it up" before the zapper happens.
I bought this originally because of his one-year old too-boisterous, over exuberant behavior in the dog park. He still can play with the other dogs but he now understands that the play has to be within limits. It's a win-win situation: he's happier; I'm happier.
Absolutely endorse this product. It works with minimal discomfort to your pet (and you)!
