Does exactly what you would expect, quietly and (i expect) reliably

I bought this to keep backups safely of all the other external drives, USB sticks etc that I have in use I just plugged it in and its all there ready to use There is some windows software included, I deleted it as I use Linux instead of windows - Its a totally desk-bound drive in that it needs a mains power supply - you can't take it out and about with your laptop unless you want to take and use the mains adapter as well In some ways that's an advantage - its less likely to be 'borrowed' for some urgent task and disappear - Unlike some external drives that I have, this one has some (though not a lot) of ventilation in the case and it does run cooler than my other drives which is good for the reliability of any drive - In common with some other drives, the drive shuts down as soon as its disconnected from the USB or you shutdown the computer, - good for saving energy and probably extending the life of the drive - USB3 connectivity should deliver fast data transfer (also works with older USB ports) I dont know how fast the actual hard drive is because speed is not an issue for me Overall, no surprises, just an good external drive - I cant believe I found so much to say!
