non-rock n roll vocal favorites from the 50's - Songs long forgotten
I was not looking for rock n roll hits from the 50's but the other music I used to hear on the radio at that time. Growing up in Cleveland during the 50's, rock n roll was only played for a few hours a day, usually in the evenings during homework time. The rest of the day music such as what is on these CD's was often heard and I remember my mother singing to the radio while she worked in the kitchen. This 3 disc set had many of those songs I had long ago forgotten until I heard them again. Don't get me wrong only a few would be considered classic, but not all music is, even today. This set contains such a wide mix of vocals and instrumentals from the 50's that bring back memories of everyday music. If you remember songs like Ragg Mopp,Shotgun Boogie, I said my Pajamas or instrumentals like The Typewriter then I recommend this set.

Sirius Sportster 4
1 of 1 found this helpful I own another Sportster 4 that I paid full retail for, this second one is to bounce around. This model will not do ala carte programming from Sirius/XM you need a newer radio like Starmate 5 or Stratus 6, but if you talk to the programming people IN PERSON on the phone you can usually haggle for a discounted programming price. Sirius/XM is finally waking up that while their subscription base is broad the listening habits of that base is not. Why pay for radio that you do not listen too? I have trouble filling up the first 10 presets on my radio so a reduced programming fee would be nice. I am also burned that the new "music royalty fee" is not better adjusted. Not Sirius/XM fault, just another way the music industry is milking the public.
Bottom line, id you can get a Sportster 4 cheap on eBay and don't mind haggling with the Sirius people on the phone you can get a nice radio with "cheaper" fees and enjoy commercial free radio at a reduced rate. Both radios are over 4 years in age and I have had no issues with them. Be patient with your bidding, and you can pick up a nice radio at a fair price for you and the seller.
