Not for Fans of the Book
1 of 1 found this helpful Cast is great, costumes are beautiful. Typical "Masterpiece Theater" style eye candy. If I hadn't read the book I would have rated this film more highly. But as a Henry James fan I was totally distracted by major changes in the plot and the characters, though The Wings of the Dove is widely regarded as one of his most successful novels in both regards. To be avoided if you are looking for fidelity to James' subtle and tragic tale.
