It's a genuine element. It works.
There were cheaper clone options, but I felt happier paying a bit more for what looks like the genuine article. One of the element coils seemed a bit close, almost touching, another certainly closer than my failed element. So I gave it a wee bend to separate them a bit.
As for good quality and value, well it's only been just over a week since I installed it, but it has been used several times since then, and it is still working. No funny smells!
Currently I would buy again, assuming it lasts more than a year or so.
It seems a but churlish, but I'm not going to give it 5 stars, as how can a working element be "Amazing"!

A little self assembly
As expected, our original handle got baked/melted. I considered buying a generic grill pan with handle, but decided to try this instead. It required a little assembly, as the plastic that surrounds the metal handle needs to be snapped into place and then a single screw (supplied) inserted and tightened.
I'm not convinced its just the same grade of plastic as the original, but it looks like it will be fine. Time will tell.

Silly fun film.
Silly fun film from the 70s. Sheriff Buford T. Justice is the highlight. I was a bit disappointed this DVD version is in the "square" 4:3 aspect ratio, if I'd spotted that I would probably have skipped it and looked for a widescreen version.
