Excellent value proposition
Bought this end of line to accompany a scope-attached Pulsar Forward F155 purchased last year. It serves its purpose well as a spotting device at a price point I was willing to pay; obviously the latest generation Pulsar Digiforce monoculars may have slightly better image quality, better battery options (the Forward F155's proprietary battery pack and ability to support portable charge packs are excellent) and the ability to stream video to your phone, but for what I wanted - a compact, lightweight, low magnification monocular - it has met my expectations so far with 1 month of occasional use in mixed weather conditions. I've opted for digital night vision over gen1 tubes for reasons of longevity, compactness and perceived quality at an entry level price point, adding up to what I believe is an excellent value propostion. Your mileage may vary. The ergonomics of button placement are good for use in the dark. The carry strap attaches to the wrong (left) side via the tripod mount and tends to be more of an impediment. I'd like to try mounting on a tripod or headset, the eyepiece will rotate to accomodate this. The active IR lamp can be switched off or on - compared to the one on my F155, it's output is modest, though adequate for the intended viewing range. It's also possible to mount additional IR lights on the side of the device. There's a removable objective lens cap, but no ocular lens cap - though I tend to leave these at home or in the truck anyway. The carry case is appropriately sized to accomodate the cigar lighter charger, cloth and device and is handy. The monocular itself is light and handy and will fit easily into my coat pocket.
