Good round sound in the right location
14 of 14 found this helpful Despite the fact they've only got 5 1/2" mid drivers, with a good closed volume behind them they are quite effective in the lower frequencies. The higher ranges are bright and clear without being shrill or tinny. There doesn't seem to be any of the mid-range gap found in some cheaper co-axials.
Careful attention to installation is the key. They're coaxial, so compact, and a rear shelf is the ideal location, though mine still sounded quite clear in the front footwells.
They're a good match for a decent 40W head-unit. Though rated at 35W RMS, they're quite capable of keeping up with the head unit to the point it saturates. Using a High-pass-filter (if the Heat unit supports it) will keep the sound clear without it being muddied by sub frequencies that the speakers will not be able to produce anyway.
These speakers don't come with grilles, so are best installed in OE speaker locations, or on a custom board behind accoustic carpet. The rear terminals are the spade type, with a 6mm and a 3mm spade connection.
