For the price, the extra physical width makes up for sub-4K pixel density
This is a great monitor for the price, gaming or otherwise. I've upgraded from a Dell P2715Q (27" 4K), and while the reduced pixel density is noticeable (I can see subpixel aliasing as tinges of colour again), my GPU gives better performance at this resolution, and the extra physical width is great for reading spreadsheets.
