Updated Creality Ender 3 3D Printer Aluminum DIY Resume Print 220x220x250mm UK
02 Jun, 2020
It's good. Very good.
It's fair to say I like a bit of DIY and although this is my first hands on experience with a 3d printer, it was very easy to set up using a bit of YouTube. I do work with an engineering background so my main advice when setting it up is to measure everything to make sure you're level. Check all screws as I did have a few that were loose and one that was actually cross threaded and only in on the end of the thread. It easily came out and I screwed it in properly. Checking screws on something like this is standard practice so I wasn't upset by finding a few loose, it happens. The overall build took me probably an hour and a half but I did so whilst sat on the floor with a film on, eating my tea so realistically you could do it in half of that. All tools are included and they're actually not bad. You WILL need a ruler to make sure stuff is level if you want to be precise (the detail of prints really are tiny so I would highly recommend you take the extra time setting it up properly and level). The materials are mostly aluminium and easy to assemble. The only part I thought felt cheap when building was the power supply. This is mostly because it has a plastic cover which conceals the electrics (which is good) but it's designed to only mount on one side and because of that it is possible to move it around and it doesn't sit level. Obviously this is just cosmetic and you can't actually see it when it's assembled, but if I had to pick on something to improve, I'd start with that. On the plus, the display is bright and clear, the operation of everything is smooth and rigid, everything is easy to install and access etc. Once you've built the printer you will have to level the bed and from researching before I purchased it, people seem to struggle with this. I have to honestly say I don't see why. It's very simple. Again on YouTube I found a guide, followed it and it took about 5-10 minutes to set and it worked perfectly. It's also worth mentioning that I found people making little clips for the tubes where they go into the push fittings as they had issues I suppose, however my printer actually came with them. So it seems creality have listened to customer feedback and now includes some from factory. The actual printing is a slow process. I printed the dog file that came with the printer (preinstalled on the usb and micro SD that come with the printer) and it took a few hours. However the detail is really impressive. I used the filament that came with the printer, which when finished left about a 5 inch strand remaining so they obviously include that filament to use for one of the test pieces. You'll have to buy some if you want to use it immediately after. Overall I'm very impressed. For under £200 It's amazing how many possibilities this printer opens up and the quality of the prints really are very good. It's easy to build, it's of good quality and doesn't feel cheap at all. There could be minor improvements here and there but really they're mostly cosmetic. You'll need a ruler for the build, extra filament and follow a decent YouTube guide on how to build it and level the bed. After that you'll have to learn your choice of software to make cool and/or useful stuff.

4000mAh 3S 11.1V 25C Lipo Battery for Airplane Helicopter Car Truck with XT G4N1

Good bang for buck
Battery arrived quickly for overseas shipping, gave it a quick charge and have done a few cycles in my savage XS with no problems at all. Battery really packs a punch. Quality wires and connects properly. What more could you want? Awesome battery without the massive price tag. Will buy another.
15cm USB 2.0 Panel Mount A Female Socket to A Type Male Plug Cable [008742]

It works, but measurements are wrong.
It's a usb cable, so there's not really a lot to say about it as a product other than the listing states that the hole dimensions are 25mm apart from eachother when intact they're 29mm apart from eachother. This caused me an issue as I bought the cable and designed a project and 3d printed it whilst the cable was being posted, then when it arrived the measurements weren't what the listing said. It works. It is what it is. But the holes are 29mm apart. Not 2.5cm like it says. I won't be designing anything based on other people's measurements again lol.
