Samsung VHS recorder did not work.
Would turn on, load and eject tape, but would not play. Tried several times with tapes that worked on another machine, but would never play on the Samsung. Wasted my money on it.

The camcorder meets my needs.
2 of 2 found this helpful I have owned one of these camcorders for 5 years and it has worked flawlessly for me. I know it's not "super high definition" but it makes great home movies that can easily be downloaded to my computer via Firewire and transferred to VideoCD or DVD formats for preservation. I liked mine so much that I bought 3 more off Ebay for each of my grown daughters so that we can easily swap videos and not miss any of our important family occasions. The Mini-DV tapes are easily available at Sam's and other outlets and other accessories can be found on the internet. I know there are fancier, non-tape camcorders out there now, but this one meets my needs, and for the investment, is hard to beat.
