GARMIN 305 - Why didn't I buy you sooner.
I love this product because now I can train with more specificity in terms of mileage, speed, pacing, etc. I can be more precise and focused with my workouts which I hope will lead to improved performances. It's also more enjoyable riding when you know how fast and far you are going and have gone -- the same with running. I love this product and looke forward to using it for many years to come.

Works Fine But Would Consider the Forunner 305 if Staying on Dry Land
I bought the 310XT to replace my Forerunner 305 which popped off my wrist during the bike leg of a triathlon. With my next Forerunner I decided to purchase one that would allow me to use it in the water. Thus my decision to go with the XT. Long story short, the 310XT is fine but once I worked with it, I quickly learned that it DIDN't have some of my favorite features. The 305 could be programmed to alert you when you exceeded a pre-set speed on the bike or a certain pace on the run. I liked this feature because it let me know if I was "on pace" without me having to check my watch. Plus I thought it was damn cool to hear the bell ring when I eclipsed the 22mph mark. The XT did not have this same feature. Also, the XT doesn't do a very good job of storing data. The unit is designed to have the data dowloaded; not stored. The 305 stored several months of data on the unit. The XT can store data but after about a week it won't tell you on which days you did which workouts. It all gets lumped together. In sum the XT works fine but I do miss my 305. If I had to do it over I would still go with the XT but ONLY because the XT is water resistant and was designed to be used in the pool and open water which has helped me in being quicker in my transitions. For those of you who stay on dry land, I would definately go with the 305 rather than the 310XT. At the end of the day I think it comes down to personal preference.

SUN GLASSES GETTING THE JOB DONE
As I tend to lose or break sun glasses during my racing and training, I'm hesitant to buy on the high end, price wise. These glasses are a good value for the price. The blue tint is nice -- especially for partly sunny days when you need some glare protection but you still want to maintain visibility. Glasses also fit snug and stay intact during run workouts.
A good purchase for the price.
