RAID 6 On A Buget
I've been a fan of RAID Arrays for some time now, although in the commercial environment there position might be challenged by the new generation of Enterprise HDD's. The economy (on the used market, eBay for example) of SAS/SATA set-ups is hard to beat. and RAID 6 is IMHO the way to go! In this respect the AMCC 9650SE-12ML SGL takes some beating, It has Drivers and software readily available for many OS's with relatively easy to use Software and a must have extra, the BBU unit. they offer a very high Read ability and a far bit higher Write capacity than single HDD'S can achieve. So for a storage of the likes of HD media and to serve this at very high rates to many concurrent requests are their forte.
Plus the added advantage that RAID 6 can recover from 2 simultaneous hard drive failures makes them where I store all my valued Audio/Visual files, and my old trick of making sure that friend and family had copies in case I lost mine is no longer a must. There is a learning curve of course but this RAID Controller also excels in this area too! But with very little input they care for themselves and of course all your valued irreplaceable media, family vids, and pictures always springs to mind every time, what if they get lost! And another Plus as it's hardware RAID it's of no load on your CPU! Yes I'm convinced, it's Raid 6 for me why not look into it, The prices on the second Hand market are at an all time low, so what's stopping you? Come on in the waters lovely ;o) If you would like some screen shots of Bench Marks, please request through the system and I will post as I'm still running tests on these cards and the transferring of data and fine tuning is still in hand. And I don't want to sell these Controllers short, but they are looking very favorable against my long time Favs, Areca but cheaper and more readily available.

"How did I find IT!"
1 of 1 found this helpful Well that tickled me "how did I find it" in the email requesting me to review it, because even when you spray a load of it there isn't much left to find! But I know this would make it ideal for Hi-definition plastic molding. As it wouldn't clog up any highly detailed areas such as a textured finish.
Plus in riffle barrels where you don't won't dieseling or any oil that will affect the seals, but mechanics should know that if their anywhere near the spay shop, even a trace of silicon will cause absolute havoc, and led to any and all filters needing to be changed before they can start spraying again. As silicon and spray paint of most types, just do not go together well. Yup been their, done that. But it is well known!

E-Liquid DIY 'ers take note!
I use it dissolved (to saturation point) in PG as a sweetener in e-liquid recipes, were it has little aftertaste and very kind to the coils. The only downside is you need to use 2-21/2 times the amount as you would the commercially available sweeteners.
I'll have to give it a try in my coffee one day ;o)
