Still a great camera.
3 of 3 found this helpful The D800E is still a great professional-grade camera. It creates clear and crisp images with its 36 megapixel sensor, suitable for cropping and editing in GIMP or your favorite image management software. It has a large and bright LCD screen for image review.
It also works with all my Nikon lenses from my F3, F4, and F6 film cameras. The one I purchased has a very low shutter count and looks new.
I am very happy with it.

A bit heavy, but with great features.
This is the Nikon 200-500mm zoom, with vibration reduction. It is a heavy lens, weighing in at just over 5 pounds on my bathroom scale. However, the autofocus is fast and sharp on my D850. I much prefer it over my old Sigma equivalent, the 170-500 mm. I was shooting birds in my yard with it yesterday, and the individual feathers on the hawks and doves had very good clarity.
I look forward to more wildlife photography with it.
