It Works
I bought this mod with some trepedation. I have a large noggin so when I have my headphones on the headband in extended quite far. Before you buy this unit make sure that at least at full extension of the headband you have at least 15mm between the top of your head and the headband (use a mirror) otherwise the strap won't work properly.
I used a different method of attachment as specified by the manufacturer, by simply running the elastic string under-up-around-then-down-and-under the metal headband stalks as mine were fully extended to accommodate the aforesaid fitment requirement and my large noggin :) So similar to the pictures shown but at the point where the stalk attached to the semi-circular cup holders.
General construction quality is good - I did have a bit of fluff on the elastic cable which I had to synch with a lighter to ensure it didn't ruffle further. The fit is a lot more comfortable than the standard headrest makes wearing them for long periods a breeze.
Something else that isn't very clear is that even in normal instructions is that the cables are tied up close to where they enter the new comfort band.
I was very impressed with the quality of this product. The silver plating was really thick and from what i could tell pure silver - not the cheap tin variants I've seen over the years. The PTFE coating needs to handled with care, but that is to be expected in products such as these.
I'm using this in audiophile power supply and audiophile power cables and it is some of the best wire I've come across with PTFE at a killer price. It's quite a stiff cable.
Buy without hesitation and with confidence.
