I stumbled across this minor gem, while searching for films that included the excellent British actress, Barbara Shelley. This is a harmless little 60's comedy and mainly a vehicle for the talents of Spike Milligan, although his true zany comic talent, wasn't exploited to the full here. I found the clever little site gags to be the highlite of this film ... Blake Edwards fans would enjoy this I'm sure ... and one characters escapades, bare more than a passing resemblance to one of Peter Sellers most famous screen creations.
Barbara Plays the love interest to Spikes well meaning country postman. The two meet up when Spikes character is transferred to a Busy London sorting office. It is here that he is mistaken for a thief, by both the police and a criminal gang intent on robbing the sorting office. His subsequent training for his job and pursuing by police and gang are the main basis for some entertaining site gags. All in all, I found this a very engaging and likeable comedy. Very much of it's time, but no less enjoyable as a result.
Super book. A very warm hearted, loving diary of a period of time, that I at least, was unfamiliar with.
Reads very much like a diary. Barbara takes and shares many intimate photo's, stretching over her 3 year relationship with Steve. All accompanied by related info.
The pictures themselves, including a brief history of Barbara's modelling career are fascinating stuff.
A must for any Steve McQueen fan, imho.
