Just the nut for the job

The handle had broken off of our double glazed windows due to the threaded punched holes in locking mechanism having sheared, not being able to find a comparable for the window locking mechanism. I looked to see if it was possible to fix the mechanism. The solution was to use Rivnuts. I had to drill out the holes in the metal, which I did in place and drill into upscale so the nuts could properly located. I had to make my own setting tool from a piece if brass bar and piece of 3mm bar that I threaded my self. I set the Rivnuts and hey presto I have a window I can now lock.
