The title suggests this is aimed at dummies - but it is a valuable source of information from more experienced users
The authors have given a lot of thought to the requirements of users with varying knowledge of photography and digital cameras. Apart from some very minor typos I am very impressed with how the potential complexity of using these modern cameras has been structured to take the reader through the important and less important capabilities. There are inevitably going to be some sections where the more experienced photographers require little assistance. However the book is structured so that these sections can be skipped. Do not underestimate the value of this book by the title suggesting this is only for dummies'. I have a rival book on the D60 camera which I found includes too much generic information on photography irrespective of the camera you are using. I prefer this book.

Take your paintings to a new level of expression
I found that this book provided me with a different approach to looking at any subject matter. I'm confident that it will take my paintings to a new level of expression. It is based around an approach to looking at subjects to identify key issues key to that subject, and those less relevant. That is addressed in many books. However, I found this more powerful. It then suggests different styles to maximise the expression that you choose. The book is based around life drawing, but the approach will likely have widespread benefits to any expressive artist. I tried some of this at a recent life drawing class and the results were staggering.
