The perfect camera for the hobbyist
The EPL-5 is sturdy and compact accepting a range of lenses (including pancake lenses), as well as the VF-2 and VF-4 digital eyepiece. Excellent quality for the money. The extending LCD screen adds flexibility to outdoor shooting; unlike the EPL-1 before it. The buttons are a bit tricky to work with in low light, especially if you are used to using its predecessor.

Pancake lens
The lens is clear and does not telescope. This makes it good for connectors and add-ons attached to the filter thread. Good value also!.

Recreational thermal scanner
The device is a handy size and easy to pull out of a pocket and operate in the dark. However, the image quality is not good (given the sensor size) except for hobby or recreational use. For the price, it is a fun gadget and will find things within a reasonable distance. If thermal night-vision is your requirement, opt for a 320 or 640-core device.
