Horrible rules.
The only reason I didn't rate this game as horrible is because I changed the rules, and it is now a decent game to play. The complexity of what to do with cards is ridiculous. The cards are well done, except, way too much complexity on what happens with them. I like the various battle components, yet somehow this is about appeasing gods?! I changed it to doing battle with gods, which works. Don't get this, unless you want to change the rules like I did. For example, instead of claiming territory immediately, I made it so one explored one territory at a time. Too bad this nonsense of a game wasn't set up with common sense in mind.

Wonderfully simple yet interesting
Compared to most games that try to cover complex things, this is so easy to understand, set up and play. No need to have zillions of pieces to be effective. Yet it offers choices that make a difference. It's also quick to play, and portable for travel. Not very in-depth, but still fun. My only criticism is the quality of the images on the dice, which is sometimes faded.

In depth stradigy, but not hard to learn
1 of 1 found this helpful I love the variety, and replay ability. Every game is different, with different outcomes. Love how you keep score. There is drama, as in, will you get blocked trying to complete a long route? Yet there are ways to accomplish your goal, even when blocked. Had extended family here, and all really enjoyed it. Great game for all ages.
