Great Grohe tap that's proving an essential in our kitchen
AAA+++ !!!
We've only had this Grohe Red Duo tap a few weeks, but already it is proving to be one of the most useful items in our new kitchen. The design is swish but functional. The hot and cold mixer section is easy to use and instinctive. The 99 degree C section takes a little getting used to and is a little fiddly, but once mastered, it's brilliant. Cups of tea and coffee are no problem, although you need to be careful as the tap can splash slightly. You need to take great care when filling a saucepan as there's considerably more weight involved.
Not only are we very impressed with the tap, we believe we are saving money by not having to use extra gas to heat our saucepans up to boiling point for veg, etc. And we have saved space on our counter top by not needing a kettle any more!
The ebayer we bought the tap from were also good, packing up the item well and delivering it on time.
Little tip: prior to purchase we had read that some people found that the boiling water from the tap could be scussy and cloudy, giving deposits on top of the beverages. We find that pouring the water into the mug and letting it stand in the mug for 30 seconds enables the water to clear. Then you put in a tea bag or instant coffee, giving you a hot beverage without deposits.
All in all, a great product.

Good to be back with the original gel battery
After a poor experience with a Westco gel battery, I decided to return to the Panasonic gel battery for my 1990 Mazda Eunos Roadster MX-5 Mk 1. So far (7 weeks after purchase) it has worked out OK, and I've been pleased with my purchase. The fit inside the battery box was good and the clamp fitted OK, and tightened up well on the new battery. Once everything was connected, my car started immediately. I only use the car at weekends - and less in winter - and although I disconnect the battery between runs, subsequent starts have been slightly less enthusiastic. However I've still managed to get the car to start on either the first or second turn of the ignition, which is great. I did a longer run than normal (approx 120 miles) the other week, and the car didn't miss a beat. So far, so good.
I purchased the Panasonic gel battery from MX-5 Parts. Before buying it I phoned MX-5 Parts to discuss a few queries that I had, and to get their views. I found that they were very helpful and their advice was good. The purchase - via ebay - was swift and the transaction went well. The battery arrived quicker than I expected, and came with a useful information leaflet about gel batteries and how to get the best out of them. So five stars to MX-5 Parts.
All in all, so far the battery has been good and MX-5 Parts were a great seller.

Compact and useful bin
This is a reasonable quality small bin, ideal for our needs (wet food refuse in small kitchen under-sink cabinet). With a sharp pull you can remove the lid to install compost bags, then click it back again on both sides to secure the bag. How long the little hinges will last is debatable, but it's OK at the moment. Overall a neat solution for us as we had a very tight space.
