Does what it says in the listing
Exactly as described and enabled me to get my printer back up & running after the original switch broke.

Works but was disappointed.
Far from having an 8mm sensing range the one I received had only 3mm sensing range so wasn't ideal for my requirements. I would have expected a potentiometer to sdjust the sensitivity but nope, nada - zilch

Canon PowerShot SX10 IS
2 of 2 found this helpful Canon have improved on the very good S5 IS with this newer version. Like it's predecessors, it retains the multi angle LCD screen which is a boon when taking high or low shots.
The quality of the images captured are very impressive though noise starts to show at ISO 400 when using long shutter speeds.
Obviously, the 20x zoom lens cannot hope to equal the quality of prime lenses at the same focal length, nor can it get close to the quality of Canons high end zoom lenses BUT the overall quality is very good through most of the range,
What lets this camera down for me is the decision to use AA batteries instead of a Lithium Ion battery but using best qulity NimH rechargeable batteries is a close second.
Also on the negative side is Canon's decision not to include RAW capture though again it is not as bad as it could have been thanks to CHDK which adds that functionality through firmware enhancement scripts.
Overall, the camera is extremely good, just falling short of excellent through some less than significant omissions as mentioned above.
For me, I can capture images of almost equal quality as I did with my Canon SLR cameras without the hassle of lens changes and carrying round a very heavy bag full of expensive photography paraphenalia. With this camera, I can concentrate on enjoying taking photos without all the hassle that comes with an SLR.
