Good value, nice package.
I’m giving this a 4/5 simply because this was released at the very cusp of the PS1 generation ending and as such, the disc for MGS1 is a PS1 Data disc- therefore you’re unable to save your progress unless you already own or decide to track down a PS1 memory card. Of course, they’re easy to find, and if you have a BWC PS3 then it won’t be an issue at all- however if you don’t plan on buying or collecting any additional PS1 games then it may not be worth the time and effort to get a PS1 memory card- especially if you already played MGS1 before. The baffling thing is that compilations on PS2 were not uncommon and PS1 games were ported to PS2 discs and were made compatible with the PS2 memory card on occasion ( like in both Mega Man collection. games for PS2)
It looks great on your bookcase and really adds some nice, classy white pop fo the gamelineup. If you can get this for $50 then I’d say you got yourself a decent deal considering the original releases will actually likely cost you about $45 individually if you want them black label and CIB. These versions of MGS2 + 3 are the original vanilla releases and not the Subsistence versions.

It is what it is.
The game is objectively bad, but it’s charming and a pretty good collector’s item, so it’s value as that is pretty good. If you were to buy it for an engaging gameplay experience, you’ll be sorely disappointed. I doubt anyone buys this game other than the novelty of it being the first DBZ game for the PS1 released for the US.
That’s all.
