The "Nick & Nora" cocktail glass
Nick & Nora Charles are private detectives in the 1930s movie "The Thin Man". They are constantly drinking Martinis, and this is glass shape is featured. It's a slightly smaller than the more familiar conical Martini glass, but very practical as it doesn't spill so easily when lifting it to the lips.
I love the shape, and use it frequently for Martini style cocktails. This Riedel version ticks all my boxes: delightful to look at and drink out of. It has a genuine classic 30s cocktail feel and is crystal: thin with perfect "mouthfeel". However, the modern production method is very durable, as opposed to the traditional mouth blown method, which shattered at the slightest knock!
