Well worth a read
Bishop is not an academic historian and he doesn't write like one. For the market he appeals to it is necessary to keep the reader engaged. His style is engaging and informative, while clearly showing his empathy with RAF personnel and the things they do. As such the stories he tells, which pull together a number of themes, are engaging and relevant to the ordinary reader and to those who study the topic.
