Excellent small antenna
1 of 1 found this helpful Great value mini whip, they are all quite susceptible to normal household noise so it is good to get them well away from sources of electrical noise like computers and power tools. I've had a couple of types and this seems to have good performance as far as I have tested (noisy location). I'd probably go for the enclosed ones next time as the plumbing bits I ended up buying to enclose these two were more bulky than the completed ones offered.
Things I like to see added are a LED pads+resistor for the power board, maybe even a PCB mounting hole. I stuck one in a semi transparent case (with recommended fuse) so would be good to see if it is actually on.

Great discone value.
Decent quality build, seems nicely designed and manufactured.
I was considering another brand but that was nearly 40% more.
The only thing I was unsure of was the plastic pole clamps but they seem fine.

RX cable of choice now
1 of 1 found this helpful Was looking for a good coax for SDR radio use, this ticks all the boxes and is decent value.
I can't understand why the smaller RG cables are still used for RX, this is much better for loss over a wide frequency range and also resistance to pickup. It's 75ohm but I can live with a small mismatch for the other advantages.
