For professionals & amateurs,this is the great camera to be the best with.
2 of 2 found this helpful This was my second professionally owned DSLR, coming from Nikon before, and it blew me out of the water. I only wish that I had charged tons more for my projects from all the quality given. This is definitely great for learning just as well as it is for the professional expanding their line.
I know there is the gap between 1D and the 5D level, but I know that 5D Mark III is the top of the line for it's category under $10k.
I came from the Nikon family, so I was very satisfied in the operation and image quality. It's battery lifespan, flexibility of operation, durability, and overall ease of use for attachments and setting up for different sorts of jobs.
I guess for con, it would just be against those wishing to get more work from the canon brand, just by the name. You have to promote a more quality service, if you will get the sort of scale that this camera can run. So that's just being industrious and business savvy, no fault of the camera.
I'd recommend getting a new one for professionals seeing your warranty and knowledge of how to make it's value count quickly.
For beginners, I'd recommend getting a quality used camera, to afford the time you will spend learning it, which can make a few bucks as you sure up your skills.
