Harry Northwood : The Early Years, 1881-1900

Excellent publication with lots of information, images and wide span range of products.
I wanted a view into the American early glass production and their fabrication. This book was wonderful and easy to read and was full of details, pictures, drawings, photos of glass, pattern names, dating. In short everything you might want to know.

ThIs magazine is of great quality - Problem With Czech Article Accuracy
Since I am familiar with the writer, Craig Orkney and his involvement with Czech glass and in particular Franz Welz's Bohemian glass, due to our common membership on a collector site for several years. I can state that some of his article's content, which I have read, was either missing important facts or was inaccurate. He fails to give credit to at least a dozen collectors with more experience than he had in this glass category, that helped him create and provide information for the website in 2010. Half the glass he provides pictures for within the article, the UK style frilly glass, are not from the 1920-30s period. A recent discovery shows this type of glass was produced post 1950. It has none of the qualities of older glass due to it's chemical composition, which affects the feel and the sound of it. This is not surprising considering the massive number of available pieces of this glass in the UK. It's glass type, shapes and decors point to a more recent production timeline, on today's resale market. This comment is provided for the sake of accuracy, and fairness. It does not reflect on the publication, it's staff and it's purpose.
