Typical very good Mark Knopfler soundtrack that really fits the movie well.
When I discovered that Mark Knopfler had another soundtrack to his record I didn’t think twice about buying it right away. But for those of you not similarly afflicted with the MK bug here’s what you need to know … The soundtrack is somewhat reminiscent of Local Hero, Cal, and The Princess Bride in spots but also has other more zippy tunes that are nothing like them. Almost all of them sound like works that Knopfler would write and it was that style that first clued me in to the fact that he’d written the soundtrack. One track will be melancholy and the next stirring – generally with a Scottish flair to them. I’d recommend not only the soundtrack but the movie to most audiences. It stars Robert Duvall and Michael Keaton. And if you do watch the movie and listen to the soundtrack thereafter it will definitely conjure up several scenes from the movie that you can relieve in your mind’s eye – case in point, “Four In A Row”.
