Disappointed, so far

I have used Kenwood hand mixers for most of my life (60+) and when our ancient one finally made so much noise and gave up, I sought this one out after reading various reviews and believing the name represented well considered and designed kitchen equipment. However, I do not think this is anywhere near as good as it should be. The major flaw is the weight, balance and location of the operating switch. In trying to manoeuvre the mixer in one hand while working with the other, i.e. holding a bowl etc. It is easy to accidentally switch the machine to pulse or start the blades when you are not ready to use the machine. Food every where. You only have a thumb to adjust the position and the switch is directly in the way. I acknowledge I have only just started to use this machine, but in two uses have had the problem three times and it is not a problem I have ever experienced before. I also think the slowest speed setting is too fast. You have a well powered motor with good torque, the slow setting should take advantage of it.
